The position

Our Corporate Graduate Programme is aimed at master’s or PhD applicants from both technical and non-technical backgrounds. To be eligible you must have graduated or be able to graduate by the end of 2022.

You'll join us on a 2-year programme that includes rotations of 3-12 months across functions, business areas or locations. We can't guarantee where each rotation will be, but wherever you land, we'll provide you with the tools and the experience required to develop into a specialist in your chosen field. This includes access to a mentor and a buddy, learning sessions to get to know our business, and plenty of opportunities to network and share experiences with your peers.


The position will include a wide range of activities related to Automation, Cybernetics and Robotics, Instrumentation and Measurements, Telecommunication and Cyber Security in Design:

  • Participate in major projects, abroad and in Norway, within new energy solutions and oil & gas; from feasibility studies to execution, commissioning and start-up. This includes positions within topside automation (including Autonomy and Digitalisation in Design), Cyber Security in Design, telecommunications, subsea controls, and technical safety.
  • Contribute to the digital future of Equinor towards remotely operated, unmanned and autonomous facilities, including use of AI/machine learning, advanced control and optimisation, robotics and drones, predictive maintenance, and cloud computing.
  • Be proactive towards the possibilities enabled by automation and digitalisation to enhance the digital mindset and competence in the organisation.
  • Provide technical support and integrity tasks to operation, maintenance, and modifications of our offshore and onshore plants in Norway and abroad.
  • Participate in technology development and research programs within the discipline.
  • Close follow up of our vendors and contractors.

  • Master’s degree or PhD with good academic record within Automation, Instrumentation, Cybernetics and Robotics, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Telecommunication, or Cyber Security
  • No more than two years of relevant fulltime work experience
  • Fluent in English and preferably a second working language
  • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work is an advantage
