The group operates the world’s largest fleet of open hatch vessels, specifically designed and equipped to transport unitized cargoes such as forest products, steels and non-ferrous metals and project cargo. Gearbulk is also involved in the transportation of conventional bulk cargoes and in terminal operations.

We are expanding our Technical Team in Bergen and are looking for a Technical Superintendent Trainee. As a company we believe in
developing our employees and giving opportunities to individuals. Growing the organization from within has been a key to success for Gearbulk. The trainee role will be an entry-level role into the technical team where you will be trained into becoming an independent Technical Superintendent with the ability to manage a fleet of your own. The first period you will be following and supporting the Technical Superintendents with the relevant day-to-day activities related to operating a vessel. You will also be introduced to the shipping business in a structured way. Traveling onboard the vessels will be a part of the training, to experience the life onboard and understanding the culture onboard a vessel. The trainee period will also include attendance at shipyards abroad during yard stays for periodic surveys and repairs.

We are looking for graduates with a Master degree from engineering, or other relevant education degree, with an interest in ship management, technical challenges and managing an international crew.
