Join our global team for a career filled with opportunities to solve challenges both small and large, local and global, simple and complex.
Are you looking for a summer job out of the ordinary? Work with us on our new start-up BlueGreen where you will create business ideas within a circular economy of shipping. Learning new skills, your ideas can directly impact our business and the future of the maritime industry.
What will you do?
Wilhelmsen is a global maritime group and recently we established the start-up BlueGreen aiming to create business within a circular economy of shipping. The basic idea is to unlock the value of leftover, retired products, and waste from vessels. As BlueGreen is a start-up, you will be able to make a big impact and add value during the internship. You will learn to work in design sprints, pushing your creativity to its limits and assessing new ideas as they appear.
Some of the qualities we are looking for:
A venture mindset – with agile out of the box thinking, you might even have start-up experience.
A passion to create business within circular economy.
Skills in designing digital platforms and evaluation of digital tools for autonomous business.
A fresh and positive thinking person with a drive to solve some environmental challenges at scale.
Since we are looking to create an international team for this project, we encourage people of all nationalities to apply. However, we will prioritize 3rd and 4th year students for the internship.
Why should you apply?
Besides getting paid to have fun this summer, you will gain insights into a leading maritime organisation with connections to every part of the world. In collaboration with stakeholders from our different business divisions, you will work in a dynamic environment with the freedom to scope the project and choose your own approach.
The project will run from 19th June to 7th July, followed by a three-week vacation, resuming July 31st to August 18th 2023.
Founded in Norway in 1861, Wilhelmsen is now a comprehensive global maritime group providing essential products and services to the merchant fleet, along with supplying crew and technical management to the largest and most complex vessels ever to sail. Supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace, with thousands of colleagues in more than 70 countries, we take competence, sustainability, innovation, and unparalleled customer experiences one step further.
