DNV's Control Systems and Cybernetics Advisory unit is part of DNV's Maritime Advisory unit, a consultancy unit. We are currently a group of 13 people with growth ambitions, located in Lysgården on Sluppen in Trondheim. Our group consist of many different nationalities, working in a multi-cultural environment.

 

In our work, we create digital twins using in-house technology, using them for both testing of complex safety critical systems for the maritime and offshore industry and for performing dynamic positioning simulation studies for assessing vessel’s station-keeping performance.

 

We develop and deliver web-based and simulator-based solutions to our clients world-wide. Our unit is looking for curious engineers that want to work with us on different aspects of our projects. Our unit is looking for candidates that can deliver in projects, on the product development and on the business development side.

 

In our unit we work with all aspects of projects, from sales, product maintenance and development to project execution. This means you with DNV will learn all aspects of the consultancy business.

 

Our clients include energy companies, rig and ship owners, shipyards and ship designers.

 

In short, our group work with all aspects of a consultancy business, with many different stakeholders in many countries.

 

We also work closely with other DNV units internationally, enabling us to have our engineers visit other units to increase competence and work closer with our international clients.

 

In our unit, you will in the beginning be tasked with a senior engineer working in external projects, and as you aquire more competence, work in product development and business development may be given, based on your interests in this field.

Position Qualifications

We are primarily hiring candidates with relevant Bachelor's/Master’s/PhD degree who have a background in Electro/Cybernetics/Marine Technology with a special interest in programming.

 

But we encourage also you who is curious about what we can offer to apply, even if your competence does not match 100% the above.

 

Who are we looking for?

  • We are interested in hiring good pepole who are curious enough to challenge us, and we will provide training and sparring in projects and courses in order for graduates to excel in their work in our group.  
  • We are looking for poeple that are first and foremost curious within their field, and are eager to work with us and our client in order to find smarter ways of assisting our clients. If you are curious enough, we will supply training necessary to enable you to sit with clients like Equinor, Petrobras, Shell, Royal Caribbean Group and discuss isses related to automation and use of digital twins to optimize their operations.
  • It is a plus for us if you are more than average interested in programming, in order to be a resource for our product maintenance and product development(internal tools).
