Graduate consultant Marine Technology

We are looking for graduates specializing in marine hydrodynamics and marine structural engineering for our office at Lerkendal in Trondheim.

 

At Norconsult, you’ll work on innovative marine projects, including aquaculture, fjord crossings, and offshore wind. Our Ocean Space Structures group in Trondheim is involved in several innovative and complex interdisciplinary marine projects. The group has specialized expertise in the analysis and design of marine structures, and we work across all phases, from feasibility studies and conceptual design to detailed engineering and third-party verification. We are now strengthening our efforts and are seeking skilled professionals to help further develop our marine technology expertise.

 

Your responsibilities will include (depending on specialization):

  • Structural analyses (static, dynamic, linear/non-linear)

  • Hydrodynamic analyses

  • Hydroelastic analyses of elastic structures, including the use of membrane.

  • Stability analyses

  • Mooring analyses

  • CFD analyses

  • Concept development of floating closed and semi-closed aquaculture containment systems and offshore wind structures, in collaboration with clients

  • Verification of marine concepts against site conditions

  • Consulting and guidance for model tests and laboratory testing

  • Producing reports, calculations, and technical documentation

  • Technical discipline oversight within projects

  • Project management

 

For us, it is important that you:

  • Are in your final year of study MSc/PhD in marine technology with a specialization in marine hydrodynamics or marine structural engineering

  • Possess analytical skills and are willing to learn numerical modeling tools

  • Are accurate, solution-oriented, and proactive

  • Can work well independently and as part of a team

  • Contribute to a good social and professional environment

  • Have good communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken.

 

It is also advantageous if you:

  • Have knowledge of dynamic loads and structural dynamics

  • Have materials knowledge related to metals, concrete, composites, and polymers

  • Are familiar with software/languages such as DNV SESAM, ABAQUS, ANSYS, SIMA, WAMIT, REEF3D, Python, Matlab, etc.
