We are looking for 2 curious and forward-thinking master’s graduates to join DOF as our
Maritime Trainees for 2026 & 2027.

In cooperation with the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association, we are offering a structured, well established 18-month Trainee program starting fall 2026. Through structured learning, rotational assignments and with the support of an inspirational mentor, we will build a key player that can be a partner in translating vision into strategy in a focused and sustainable way.
As a Maritime Trainee, you will play an active role in DOF’s daily operations, taking on meaningful tasks under the guidance of supervisors in each department you rotate through. You will get insight into vessel operations and management, as well as the different project stages from tendering to project delivery. As a graduate/trainee in DOF, you’ll be supported through a rich and fast-paced learning process that will develop your insight into our activities and business needs.

Tasks:
• Tasks will include, but not be limited to the following sub-disciplines; vessel
management, vessel operations, engineering, market research, chartering, tendering,
pricing, outlining technical solutions, risk management analysis, project execution,
project management, depending on your background
• Engage in rotational assignments in different departments
• Participate in structured learning and networking
• Be part of several projects advocating social activities and sustainability

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in engineering (e.g., Structural, Naval, Maritime, Marine Technology,
Mechanical Subsea Technology, Innovation, Renewable Energy) or Industrial Economics,
Ship Management, Finance or similar.
• 0-2 years of professional experience
• Maritime industry knowledge or interest
• Business mindset with interest in strategy and how to apply new technology to improve
business
• Fluent in English, with good communication skills both spoken and written
• Analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems

Is this the perfect role for you, but you don’t meet every single requirement? Our culture of
innovation is built on valuing the right person for the role over a perfect alignment with a job
description. Not least because research tell us women and minorities are unlikely to apply if
they aren’t able to match all the role requirements listed. Building a diverse, inclusive, and
positive workplace is important to DOF, so we say, apply for the role – it’s the best way to find the right person for this or other roles - and that could be you.

Office locations are Marineholmen, Bergen and Storebø, Austevoll. This position will require
presence at both locations. This is an onshore position.
