AqualisBraemar LOC Group (ABL Group)
Position
We invite applications from naval architects, marine and offshore engineers, geotechnical and electrical engineers, and any other engineering disciplines with an interest in marine to join our RINA and IMarEST accredited International Engineer Development Scheme.
We plan to recruit up to four participants into the scheme who will start in September 2022 and will then spend four years based at various offices around the ABL Group, mainly on year-long placements. Working in our core areas of renewables, maritime and oil & gas, successful candidates will gain knowledge and experience in:
• Design engineering
• Marine warranty surveying
• Advanced hydrodynamic and structural analysis
• Casualty investigation techniques
• On-site survey attendances
• Engineering support for claims and litigation
• Health and safety at work
• Business administration
At the end of the programme, each participant will be eligible to apply for full membership of RINA and/or IMarEST and for registration as Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council (UK). Membership applications through other professional institutions may also be possible.
Qualifications
Within the UK we only accept applications from those expected to graduate with qualifying Master degrees, accredited by RINA and/or IMarEST. To be considered, applicants applying internationally with non-UK academic qualifications need to provide verification that their university course is accredited by RINA or/or IMarEST.
Direct Entry
There are also openings for our Direct Entry Engineer Development Scheme, where participants will be based at a single office. The number of places on offer will depend upon demand within the local offices. Applicants should advise their preferred choice of office, although no guarantees on vacancies are made.
